Pete has been rockin’ and rollin’ since he was a toddler. His earliest memories include bouncing on the bed in his sisters’ room as they played Beatles records for hours on end. He would beat out rhythms at the dinner table with knife and fork. Pete picked up the drums at Anne Hutchinson Elementary and continued to drum his way through lessons, school band, marching band, jazz band, and all-county band.Pete brings a powerful, brilliant edge to his drumming that embodies his long-time connection to hard rock. His first influences were the English hard rock drummers of the late ‘60’s and ‘70’s – John Bottom of Led Zepplin, Bill Ward of Black Sabbath, Ian Pace of Deep Purple. “I’m also a huge fan of Stevie Wonder and R&B” Pete says. “I try to combine R&B with rock to get a funky, hard-rock edge to my drumming.” |
Pete has been a central figure in the Westchester music scene for years. Local fans may remember him as the drummer for Master Force, Silent Listener, and most notably Vandal, a local original hard rock band that had quite a following in the late ‘80’s and for a while was courted by Atlantic Records. When Pete isn’t drumming he works as personal fitness trainer and gives drum lessons. “I like to train musicians” he says. “I give them exercises to build their playing endurance. I also bring this to my drum lessons. Drummers are prone to repetitive-type injuries and I can coach them in the physical aspects of drumming to prevent this.” |
